1. Healing is in the word!
My son attend to my words: incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes: keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are Life unto those that find them, and Health (Medicine) to all their flesh.
He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction’s.
In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God… and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us…(that’s Jesus)
“The Word” Jesus is Healing.
Faith comes by hearing God’s Word.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…seeing you have forgotten the law of thy God.
Obedience to the word brings healing!
2. Healing is in the atonement!
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses), and carried our sorrows (pains, diseases): yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. And with his stripes (bruises) we are healed.
And (Jesus) healed all that were sick: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses.
1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree. That we, being dead to sins should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed!
“Were healed” – past tense! If you were healed then you are healed!
Jesus Christ bore our sicknesses, why should we bear them?
If you were healed 2000 years ago, then you are healed! Jesus purchased your healing 2000 years ago. You only need to receive it. Just like salvation!
Healing is in God’s redemptive plan.
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
What is the curse of the law? Poverty, sickness, death! Christ has redeemed us from the curse!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
… I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord your God, and will do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statues, I will put ( permit, allow) none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Lord that healeth thee. (I am, not I was!)
For I am the Lord I change not; …
God doesn’t change!
Hebrews 8:6 says that we have a better covenant based upon better promises.
3. It is God’s Will to heal you!
1. John 5:14,15 – Read!
Jesus is the expression of the father’s will.
Jesus being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person …
… I come to do thy will, O God.
Jesus said, if you have seen me, you’ve seen the father!
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever.
He healed then, he’ll heal now!
3 John 2
Beloved, I wish (pray)above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
4. God is the Healer!
The devil is the destroyer!
The thief comes not, but for steal, and to kill, and to destroy …
But Jesus came to destroy the destroyer!
1 John 3:8
For this purpose the son of God was manifested (revealed), that he might destroy the works of the devil!
… I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
5. Healing is for all!
… And Jesus healed them all.
… And (they) brought unto him all that were diseased: And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
As many as touched him!
… All they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
… God is no respecter of persons!
He healed them, he’ll heal you, too!
Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save (heal) the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Yes, but that was just for ministers and elders!?
6. For Ministers only? No!
He that believes on me (Jesus), the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my father.
Believers get to work!
Jesus said, we would do greater works!
Then Peter said, silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the richt hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of may that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.
Believers do the works of Jesus!
And there they preached the gospel. And there sat a certain man of Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked: The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed. said with a loud voice, stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
They preached the gospel, the man heard Paul speak, faith cometh by hearing God’s word, they must have preached healing in their gospel message, because the man got healed!
And these signs shall follow them that believes; in my name … They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
If you are a believer, Jesus said you will lay hands on sick people and they will get well!
Believers get to work!
7. The Holy Spirit is the power!
1 John 4:4
… Greater is he that is in you (Holy Spirit), than he that is in the world (satan).
But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead, shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwells in you.
If you are born again, then the Holy Spirit lives inside you!
You have that life-giving power inside and he quickens or gives life to, or makes alive, your mortal bodies!
You must receive & believe the word of God. It must become real and fresh for you or it won’t work!
Get God’s word down in your spirit man for it’s only what you know and act upon for yourself that counts!
Salvation is a gift! (Ephesians 2:8,9)
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift. (Acts 2:38)
8. Healing is a gift!
It is free!
It has already been paid for!
Receive it for yourself and then go and heal others!
It’s time for the true church of Jesus Christ to go from the mentality of ” I can receive healing for myself if I can just touch the hem of his garment, like the woman with the issue of blood,” to the mentality of ” I can pray for others and heal them, and they get healed because the almighty power of God lives inside of me and flows through me to the needy when I pray!”
- Touch – lay hands on the sick
- Command – in Jesus Name
- Action – on part of the candidate
- Go and do the works of Jesus!
