Report from Stolwijk, 2004, 2005

What an exciting work God is doing in the Netherlands!

On November 19, my husband Paul and I arrived in Stolwijk, Netherlands. We were awestruck as we arrived in the village of just over 5000 people. God has chosen this village to begin a mighty work within the traditional Reformed church. There are two congregations who use the beautiful church building, one quite traditional and one more evangelistic. God is proving He Is Lord of Lords and loves all His children, no matter what style of worship they use.

Beginning November 3, with what was supposed to be two days of women's meetings, there has exploded a healing revival. No one planned this, God set it in motion. He chose this time and place to declare and prove His love and healing power to some of His more conservative believers.

Anyone who has grown up in a more conservative denomination will understand how difficult it is for some people to attend a charismatic gathering. At this time, most of the powerful healings and miracles seem to be occurring among charismatic groups. God is no respecter of persons. He sees the hearts of those in His traditional churches and wants them to have a full revelation of His love, gifts and power. The prayers of the Stolwijk believers have been answered, God is presently revealing Himself in a powerful and wonderful way.

Nearly every night since November 3, there have been one or two meetings each day. It will continue as long as our Lord wishes. As Paul and I have served there, it has been very obvious that "man" is not orchestrating this revival, God is. The numbers have ranged from 100-600 each night. Half of those in attendance are "first-timers", and many each night are from out of town. They are hungry for more of God, needing all kinds of healing, and thrilled to be able to receive these things in a familiar, safe, environment.

Here are some of the testimonies and healing I have the privilege to have heard about:

One mother with very bad sinus trouble brought her daughter to a meeting. Her husband could not come because he had been in a car accident that day and was too sore. When her daughter came up for prayer, she explained she had been a gymnast who had badly injured one knee. She had had two surgeries but they had not worked. She lived in pain and with limitations. As Pastor Victor prayed for her, the pain left and she could not actually feel her legs anymore, so she went for a run. That night, in her bedroom, her knee made a loud crack, so loud it brought her parents running into her bedroom. When they arrived all feeling had returned and her knee was completely healed and restored. This overwhelmed her parents, they returned to the meetings. The father accepted Jesus as Saviour and his accident injuries were healed. The mother was already a believer, but came forward for healing in her sinuses, and received it! The Lord truly is Jehovah-Raphe.

Another woman had received a copy of the healing verses CD one of our ministry team members had recorded. As she listened to the CD in her car, the fact that all who came to Jesus for healing on the Sabbath were instantly healed, embedded in her spirit. This woman had suffered from Chronic Fatigue, allergies and Meniere's disease for 9 years. She raced to the service that Sunday night. As it approached midnight, and her turn in line had not come up, she determined to be ministered to before the Sabbath ended, and worked her way forward. Jesus rewarded this kind of determined faith when He was here on earth, and proved He does so today, too. She was completely and instantly healed. She returned to testify that she had thoroughly cleaned her whole house, something she personally had not been able to do the past 9 years. Praise the Lord!

A man with very bad toes for 6 years came forward for healing. They were deformed and one had been surgically removed. After prayer, he went for a run for the first time in years, and was healed! A reporter was in that service, so the man was able to share his testimony with the public immediately!

A woman with closed fallopian tubes came to the meetings and received prayer. She returned to testify the doctors have confirmed her tubes are now open and she is completely normal.

When meetings extend on for such a long time, the miracles and healings become too many to record. All manner of back and neck injuries have been healed. Many with headaches, or stress related symptoms freed. Several with arthritis and joint diseases restored. Allergies and sensitivities are healed. Healing of emotional hurts and pains is common. There is nothing too small or great for God to take care of. Each night people receive Jesus as Saviour, too.

During our time in Holland in November, we also had the privilege to participate in a crusade in The Hague. I love seeing the Lord work in a crusade setting. He never fails to show up and prove His character, love and power. Satan is always threatened by crusades. I love to see our Lord overcome all of the devil's attempts to "wreck" a crusade, or any work of God. He really is a "little devil" compared to our great, big God. Those of you who have never been a part of the "behind the scenes" organizing of Christian events, are truly missing out. Participating in the running of events really helps strengthen your faith, and gives you a fresh understanding of the body of Christ working in unity. I encourage all believers to find more ways they can serve.

I will admit though, as exciting as the crusade was, my heart remained in Stolwijk. I get the privilege of experiencing crusades on a regular basis, I have never been a part of a move like the one in Stolwijk. Paul and I returned home December 2. I got to return by myself to my "second" home, Stolwijk, this January. Thank you, Jesus.

It was wonderful to see all God has done in Stolwijk the month I was away. The hunger for God has intensified, the people are maturing and growing in Christ in remarkable ways. Each meeting, half of the people are there for the first time, but now there are the others who are solid in the knowledge that our Lord is The Healer. I had the opportunity to reconnect with a number of people I had ministered to, and made friends with. My prayer is that I blessed them as much as they blessed me. God has a special plan for Stolwijk and the Netherlands. Brothers and sisters continue to pray for this mighty work of our Lord, He has more He wants to do. I believe this miraculous outpouring of His has only just begun.
