While we
were in the Philippines, we went to the village
of Catanico.
Evangelist Victor preached/saved/healed everybody
in 45 minutes!
The reason for doing it so fast was it was one of
the first nights of the campaign, it started
quite late, and we didn’t want people to be
tired at work the next day.
I had 60-100 kids
surrounding me the whole night. I did a little
test to see if they were indeed following me. I
stood up and walked to the other side of the
meeting yard. Sure enough, they all followed me
there. It eventually was quite a relief to get in
the car and away from them. Cagayan de Oro means
“City of Golden Friendship” and Irish
(a 16 year old girl that I met that night) told
me that all the kids wanted to be my friend…
that’s a lot of friends!
Little
boys the people in Catanico were really hungry to
hear about God, and many responded to the call
for Salvation and to be healed.
One day we
had an outside impromptu healing meeting.
We were visiting a feeding program that Pastor
Graciano has weekly. It all started out in an
orderly fashion, but then people started getting
healed, - a blind man began to see, a lame man
who could not walk began walking, goiters began
shrinking, headaches were cured.
The crowd
looked on in wonder and amazement as Victor began
teaching about the signs and wonders that they
were seeing. More and more people starting coming
out of the buildings to hear Pastor Victor speak.
The crowd
begins to swell so quickly.
People started
bringing sick ones to us so quickly.
Someone produces umbrellas to cover us from
the 38º C sun.
The five of us divide the crowd into 5
sections and begin healing.
The more people who were healed, the more kept
coming. You could almost taste the excitement in
the air.
This
girl was standing near me in an impromptu meeting
Pastor Victor was holding in a poor area of the
city.
All the kids were around me and I could
see them playing with each other around the
outskirts of the people. Many people got healed,
as well as the young ones, and two 15-year-old
girls got healed, and started healing other
people. It was amazing to watch.
I am busy taking pictures of everything as I
was the only one carrying a camera at the time,
and I am mostly getting kids as they all placed
themselves around me. The lady who helps organize
the feeding program was holding my umbrella, and
was talking to me about what they are doing. They
are feeding many many people, and helping some of
the kids learn to read and write.
Suddenly,
Pastor Graciano and Pastor Carlos have get us out
by physically leading us. The crowd is just
growing bigger and bigger and a crush is forming
of people wanting to get healed. We each have a
large group of people around us pressing in to
hear the gospel, and we are getting further
apart. As we leave we rejoice at all the healings
and salvations.
On
Easter Sunday all of the Evangelical Churches
were gathering in a stadium for an Easter
service.
Many strings were pulled to get an
invitation for Evangelist Victor to preach and to
have an Alter Call for healing there. The people
responded to his call, and many people got
healed.
The pastors who had been to all of
Victor’s meetings got a chance to pray for
people, and to see that they could heal too,
and that it was easy.

Conditions
are a bit different than in Canada
There are fewer back problems and arthritis.
At this meeting there were many healed of heart
problems, goiters, kidney stones, addictions, and
AIDS.

The most common ailment that I
heard of was Goiters.
I saw many shrink right before my eyes, and it
was wonderful to watch the look of amazement on
the people’s faces as they felt it shrink in
their hands.

and healings that happened and the crowd was
bigger. At least 60% of the people responded to
the call each night.
This

They are all extremely happy about the amazing
work that God had done over that week

Following the campaign, Ethne-Jo included these
pictures and the accompanying text in a Social Sudies
text book she made herself. She then submitted the text
book to her school, wh gave her a very high mark for the
work she had done.
