We are in
India, Kerala State, in Nedumangadu. A small town
outside of Thiruvananthapuram, commonly known as
Trivandrum. The Pastor that invited us to India is building an orphanage. There are 15 girls, and 14 boys there. They will be getting more kids in September, and they have two resident cows that are owned by some of the workers there, and an odd chicken here and there. The teachers that work there hold a school for the orphans, and are planning on building a big school for the public school kids soon. Pastor Mophet has a really big vision for that place and it is coming together as quickly as the money comes in. From my perspective the money is coming in nicely. They are buying surrounding properties and erecting new buildings so they can take in more kids and to build a bible school. |
The
one thing that I noticed in India is the respect
for prayer. Everybody knows how to pray, and prays hard. From the littlest child to the adults they all put their full heart into worshiping God and they dont care what the person next to them is doing. |
Men pray
just as fervently as the women. It would be amazing if the all over the western world started to not care what people think of them, and just served our God with their whole heart, mind and body. How quickly things would get done! |
There
was a real language barrier between the people
and I as they did not speak a lot of English, and
I wish that I could have spoken more to the
people to know about there lives. This lady had a real sweet sweet spirit around her that went to everybody that was standing around her. |
Here are
some of the women who attended the evening
meetings. It was quite common to have women on
one side, and men on the other.About 250 people came to each meeting, and there were wonderful miracles afterwards. |
This
is a typical fishing harbor on the Indian Ocean. The poorer fishing boats look like logs on the beach (by the trucks) they were coconut palms hewn into three pieces and lashed together in a boat shape. You sit or stand on the boat and whatever part touches the boat becomes very wet. I swam in both the Philippine and Indian Ocean on my trip. They seemed saltier then our oceans. In the Indian Ocean there was a high surf like at a beach near where I live. The waves would alternate the water level between ankle deep to 4 feet deep with a really strong undercurrent. I loved to lie on my back and get swept back to shore but had to be careful to get my feet under me before being swept back out. My eyes had too much salt water in them after 20 minutes, so I decided to get out and dry off. |
This report was submitted by Ethne-Jo Koshman from Victoria, BC Canada
She and her Father were part of the campaign team that went to India.
Following the campaign, Ethne-Jo included these pictures and the accompanying text in a Social Sudies text book she made herself. She then submitted the text book to her school, wh gave her a very high mark for the work she had done.
We want to say thanks to all those who are praying for us.
And in all we thank our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for doing such mighty work through us.
